N.C. State's jerseys will have a different look this season, coach Dave Doeren said, but they won't be a radical departure from recent versions.
"They're not that crazy but there are little things in there that the players might like that are different," Doeren said.
The Pack will unveil the new look at Meet the Pack Day on Aug. 4. Doeren said the players haven't seen the new jerseys yet. He also said while other programs, notably Maryland and to a lesser extent UNC, have undergone major fashion makeovers, that won't happen at N.C. State.
On his caravan tours with the Wolfpack Club this spring, Doeren said the No. 1 question from fans was about the uniforms and their preference for keeping the primary school colors.
"Our fans want to see red and white," Doeren said. "They don't want to see black jerseys and matted helmets. They want to see red and white. Our fans are very traditional and very proud of the school colors."
The basketball team, which also has its jerseys designed and supplied by adidas, wore black uniforms last season and two other special jersey variations. Doeren didn't see if adidas had any plans for a third jersey for the football team.
