No. 1 draft pick on hand for opening night of NC-Pro Am

Bookmark and Share

At the NC-Pro AM opening night on Thursday night, one of the biggest highlights happened on the sideline.

No. 1 draft pick John Wall was on hand for the first two games. He sat on the bench next to Jerry Stackhouse for the second game of the night with Team Stackhouse. N.C. State forward C.J. Williams is on that squad and while he said the league helps him work on his game, it also serves other purposes.

"With John Wall sitting on our bench and Jerry Stackhouse, you get a chance to develop some bonds with guys you normally wouldn't get the chance to," Williams said. "It is good for me as a basketball player to build some networks."

Williams, who played in the league last summer and won the championship, thought he ended up on Stackhouse's team with all the UNC guys because of his strong track record.

"Jerry wanted to get me on his team because I won it with P.J. Tucker last year."
