N.C. State director of athletics Lee Fowler added another title to his resume on Monday. He’s now a grandfather.
Fowler’s daughter, Ashley Giles, and husband Trevor became parents of a
6-pound, 14-ounce girl just before 9:30 a.m. on Monday in Murfreesboro,
Tenn. The youngster is named Raleigh Elizabeth and at 19 inches long,
she inherited some of her grandfather’s height genes.
"We’re all tickled pink — make that tickled pinkish-red," Fowler said Tuesday.
Ashley and baby Raleigh, according to Fowler, are both doing well after the birth.
"It’s been a great past week for all of us," he said. "We got the big
win [over Miami]. Now, we’ve got this wonderful little girl to love,
and I’m very optimistic we’ll get a bowl bid, too."
