Twelve Duke teams received an NCAA Public Recognition Award for their multi-year Academic Performance Rate.

Duke was the only ACC football team to be honored and one of three from a BCS conference. The men's basketball team was also recognized (as was North Carolina's).

According to Duke's press release, the 12 teams that were honored were the most for one ACC school. The ACC list went: Boston College (11), UNC (6), Virginia and Wake Forest (5), Miami (4), Georgia Tech (3), N.C. State (2), Florida State, Maryland and Virginia Tech (1) and Clemson (0).

The awards were given to teams finishing among the top 10 percent of their respective sport based on the most recent multi-year APR reports.
