Reserve defensive tackle Markus Kuhn is among the players N.C. State is listing as out for Saturday's noon game at Georgia Tech.
Kuhn has played 28 snaps and made three tackles over the last two games.
Mikel Overgaard, who started N.C. State's first two games at offensive tackle, is out for the second straight game with an elbow injury. And running back James Washington, who has yet to play this season but was listed as a second-teamer on the team's preseason organizational chart, is out again with an injured hamstring.

For a moment there I thought
Sun, 09/26/2010 - 20:33 — unc098For a moment there I thought I was going to hit my number at 34-28. I believe it was 28-31 when the Pack powered in two more TDs
Thank god
Fri, 09/24/2010 - 08:14 — unc098Thank god football.......Gdog is on it. I think States front and linebackers can contain Gt. I am more worried about the vulnerable secondary. I think they are going to get burned like UNC's secondary last week. The key to this game, which I have said all along is time of possession. I think State can tip the balance here if they are disciplined on offense. I am sure that States coaching staff noticed how effective UNC was running the ball. I would put that ball in Mustafa's hands and have a good pass/run play mix to chew up some clock. A rested defense is critical against this team. I have picked the Pack to win 34-28.
weird feeling
Fri, 09/24/2010 - 10:55 — JPDOhioI have kinda gotten used to being alone in picking the Pack to win anything. Now I am starting to get nervous. Hope we haven't jinxed them!
Never mind.
Fri, 09/24/2010 - 10:57 — JPDOhioI see that JPG is going with Ga Tech.
We're good.
And the Face-Off starts
Thu, 09/23/2010 - 13:27 — mad_maxAnd the Face-Off starts getting interesting this week. Some really tough games to pick, and of course, you guys had to make State/GT the tiebreaker! Haha, I'll be lucky if I can only miss one or two games this week.
The way to win
Thu, 09/23/2010 - 12:14 — qdog112Keys for NCSU: Archer and Tenuta have had a long week to prepare for the option. I would be surprised if O'Brien hasn't worked in a few series all season, looking forward to this game. Playing the option requires a disciplined, assignment - defense. Unfortunately, State has shown it has a very young, aggressive defense that flies to the ball. If that happens Saturday, they will lose. I would assign LB Manning or Irving to Nesbitt every play. That on top of taking away the dive option. They would have to win with the pitch where State can use it's speed to cover the flank and maybe pick off a couple pitches. They'll have to play man coverage in order to support the run. consider 200 yards rushing a win for NCSU.
Wilson should have a record day against this 3-4 defense. State has had a lot of models to study on beating the 3-4. Almost half of the NFL uses it, with Pittsburgh having used it the longest. There's miles of tape on how to beat it.(see Tom Brady) Wilson might throw 50 times, while running Greene only as a change up, unless he gashes them from the jump. He can catch it on swing passes, but the way to beat a 3-4 is by spreading it and throwing and nobody does that better than Wilson. Any rushes should be up the middle. The "a" gap is the weakness and even weaker if the pass game is clicking. I think NCSU is better, but the kids on defense have to play their assignments to pull it off.
Thanks
Thu, 09/23/2010 - 14:59 — YAR8packThanks for the awesome breakdown. I think you've covered every angle of attack State should have for both sides of the ball. I just hope the Pack can pull the W off.
Last I checked, I think the Jackets are favored by 8.
Not really sure what to say about this game. Definitely too close to call. However, if I had to place a bet, I'm gonna have to unfortunately side with the Jackets most likely picking up the W after this one is over. Damnit.
OK GO STATE!!!
Too close to call
Thu, 09/23/2010 - 20:30 — JPDOhioYou got that right. But let's call it anyway.
This game will be decided by less than a touchdown, but I do like State's chances. Ga Tech is at home, but they have shown themselves to be beatable. They should have lost to a depleted UNC squad. The Pack has had more than a week to prepare and the strength of the defense matches up well with Tech's focus on the run. Don't like the fact that Marcus Kuhn is out, only because we can use all the depth we can get on the D-Line.
So, I 'm picking the Pack in an upset. But, of course, I tend toward the optimistic side. Your shocked, I know.
What?
Fri, 09/24/2010 - 09:28 — YAR8packJPD, optimistic? Never! ;-) I'm glad you are, bud.
I'm hoping the Pack can get the W. Just not sure what to expect since State hasn't played an option attack based team in however long.
+ 8.5
Sat, 09/25/2010 - 10:55 — gvillegatrI took the Pack and the points FWIW.
Good analysis
Thu, 09/23/2010 - 12:35 — SurferThis will be a fun game to watch. Assigning a LB to Nesbitt is a good idea, the only problem is he will probably gain 3-5 yards everytime regardless. State will need some stops and some turnovers or bad pitches by GT, otherwise GT could score just about every possession. State's offense could keep up and RW is pretty illusive, so it may come down to who has the ball last or who is less gassed in the 4th quarter.
