N.C. State won't release injury report

Bookmark and Share

N.C. State fans - and Central Florida's coaches - will have to wait until Saturday to find out the status of Wolfpack backup quarterback Mike Glennon.

Coach Tom O'Brien said today that N.C. State will not release an injury report for Saturday's 7:30 p.m. game because Central Florida will not. N.C. State sports information director Annabelle Myers said ACC policy doesn't require teams to release injury reports if the opponents don't also release them.

"Why would I give my opponent an advantage?" O'Brien said as he walked off the practice field today.

Glennon suffered what was called a bruised left knee in Saturday's season opener against Western Carolina, but there has been no update on his status since after the game.

If Glennon can't play, Daniel Imhoff will back up starter Russell Wilson.

Depth Chart Rule

I could be wrong here but I thought the ACC rule is teams do not have to provide a depth chart for non-conference games.  Reguardless of whether UCF provides one it would be up to Coach O'Brien to provide one himeself.

Or not.

Apparently, it is optional. Maybe that is what you meant, but it is not clear to me.

Normally, I am opposed to this kind of gamesmanship. But, since UCF is not providing one and State is not required to provide one, then I am fine with it.

Yup

No reason to release one if UCF isn't.

well then ...

why was every state, DUIke and ABCer on God's green earth upset with Butch and UNC about no depth chart/injury report prior to the LSU game?

I'm fully expecting nothing but crickets.

anyone can answer the question ...

Maybe because everyone was

Maybe because everyone was wanting some sort of information on who was ineligible, suspended, etc.   If you didn't hear UNC has been under investigation for multiple academic and NCAA infractions.  FYI.

That answer your question?!

That answer your question?!

That's a bit of an

That's a bit of an exaggeration I think.  I'm a State fan and an ABCer, but I was defending Butch on the related post here at ACCNow.

Options abound

If Russell and Daniel are sidelined, all is not lost.

  1. Have Dean Haynes run the Wildcat.
  2. Have Audie Cole go old school and play both ways.

I like TOB fine as a coach -

I like TOB fine as a coach - as a QB, not so much...

Dang it, Kenny

"If O'Brien can't play, Daniel Imhoff will back up starter Russell Wilson."

So I guess Imhoff is the back-up.
