The N.C. State women's basketball team will host High Point on Thursday in the first round of the Women's National Invitational Tournament.
The Wolfpack (18-15) will compete in the WNIT for the third time in school history and for the first time since 2008.
North Carolina has declined to play in the WNIT, according to UNC women's basketball sports information contact Bobby Hundley.
Duke earned a berth into the NCAA tournament and the second-seeded Blue Devils head to Nashville, Tenn., on Sunday to face Samford in the first round of the Fresno Regional.
If the Pack advances, it will play the winner of UNC Willmington and Appalachian State at a date and time to be determined.
The Pack is 3-0 against High Point.
“Our team is thrilled to have the opportunity to continue our season in an outstanding tournament made up of some really good teams,” N.C. State coach Kellie Harper said in a statement. “I’m excited for this team to experience what it’s like to play in the postseason.”
Tickets are on sale. For more information contact GoPack.com or call 919- 865-1510.
WNIT prices for the first round are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors, faculty and staff, and $1 for students and youths aged 17 and under. Season ticket holders have until noon on Wednesday to reserve their same seats before all seats are made available to the general public.
