Miami's Haith says ACC full of 'unknowns'

GREENSBORO -- Miami coach Frank Haith believes the ACC is a young basketball conference this season with many "unknowns" among teams and players.

Haith, headed into his sixth season, talked with the media at the ACC's Operation Basketball media event on Sunday. He said his team finally has perimeter players who can attack the basket. They should complement 6-foot-8 senior forward Dwayne Collins in the low block.

Still, he said the Hurricanes have young perimeter back-ups who have yet to prove themselves. He compared those young players to others spread throughout the conference where there's an abundance of new and young talent.

"There's a lot of unknown in our league right now because last year ... Carolina was so good," he said. "Everybody knew they were good and in essence they ended up winning a national championship. I think the league this year there's a lot of teams that have to answer some question. There's a lot of turnover in our league. ... Every team lost some great players."
