GREENSBORO -- The Miami Hurricanes continued their unexpected run in the ACC tournament, knocking off fourth-seeded Virginia Tech Friday afternoon 70-65 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
The victory sends the Hurricanes (20-12) into a semifinal match-up with Duke at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
Freshman Durand Scott dominated the latter stages of the game for Miami, scoring 11 of the Hurricanes' last 13 points. Tied at 64-64 in the final two minutes, Scott put Miami ahead with two free throws and the Hokies never regained the lead.
Scott finished with 17 points.
