Former N.C. State basketball coach Sidney Lowe's court date for tax evasion was rescheduled for May 29 on Tuesday.
Lowe was arrested last month in Wake County and charged for failure to file and pay state income tax in the years 2009, 2010 and 2011.
It is unclear how much he owes the state of North Carolina in taxes. Lowe had a base salary of about $210,000 annually and his total compensation was about $900,000 at N.C. State.
Lowe was the Wolfpack's coach from 2006 to 11, going 86-78 in five seasons, and is now an assistant for the Utah Jazz in the NBA. He was on the Utah bench on Monday night for the Jazz's 90-83 home loss to the New York Knicks.
Lowe, 53, still owns a home in Wake Forest, where he was arrested on Feb. 18.

No Excuses
Wed, 03/20/2013 - 13:04 — JPDOhioSid's laissez faire coaching approach apparently carried over to his attitude toward meeting his tax obligations. The good news is that, if he ever quits coaching, there probably is a spot for him in the White House. The president loves his hoops and being current on your tax liability is not a prerequisite to joining the current administration.
the look
Wed, 03/20/2013 - 11:59 — SurferKind of sad actually. I guess he paid his taxes on 07 and 08. I mean it's not like he was real busy just before and around tax filing time, while at NCSU. You have to think though, when they came to get him, that he probably had that "deer in the headlights" look, so prominent on many an occassion while coaching the Wolfpack.
