Larry Coker's working the Sun Belt Conference media kickoff. It's in New Orleans, so the gig isn't as bad as it sounds, but times sure have changed for Uncle Larry.
Seven years ago, Coker was lifting Miami's national championship trophy. Two years ago, he was still on the sidelines for the Hurricanes. Now, he's prepping for another season of noon kickoffs on ESPNU, after a pair of C-USA teams, Tulsa and SMU, said "thanks but no thanks" to his coaching inquiries.
Let's see if I've got this straight: Coker was a popular longtime assistant who got the top job after the previous coach — who built the program — bolted for greener pastures. After six seasons, he was shown the door and Miami's trying to recover from a 5-7 season.
Did ya catch that, West Virginia fans?

Agreed
