Lawson, coach differ on toe outlook

Bookmark and Share

GREENSBORO — North Carolina coach Roy Williams said Thursday that he has no idea whether point guard Ty Lawson will play in a second-round NCAA Tournament game Saturday against Louisiana State.

Lawson has missed three straight games with a jammed right big toe.

"If he's able to practice [Friday] and do some things in practice, I'll probably play him," Williams said. “But if he's like he was [Wednesday], then I'm not going to play him."

After watching Thursday's 101-58 defeat of Radford from the bench, Lawson said he expects to play Saturday.

"It's feeling better – a lot better," he said. "I was out there running around, laying the ball up and just doing little things like that. I was actually walking on all five of my toes, so I think it will be a good possibility that I play on Saturday."

ROY ROY ROY

Roy who wins alot of games but comes home a loser in March (oh yeah Doherty's recruits got him a banner)......

needs to knock off the SOS ......

Without Lawson and the ROAD KILL game on the books....Too much Frasor and Thompson will  surely end their season before getting to MOTOWN...

Roy Roy Roy

How are things in Durham?

It's one thing to recruit

It's one thing to recruit players, but coaching them is different, something that doherty wasn't able to do, and Roy was.  Roy is Good recruiter and coach, not just someone who can bring in good players and not get anything out of them.

why even bother

regardless of whether this dufus is a fan of the Heels or not.

opposing fans are so bitter they think Roy just sat at the end of the bench during the entire '05 campaign and did nothing.  some will swear he started the last game against DUIke that year, too!  it is so old hat.

I am pretty sure that guy is a disgruntled Tar Heel fan

Forget about the opposing fans. If UNC doesn't win the National Championship, there won't be enough anti-depressents world-wide to meet the needs of Tar Heel Nation. Better lock up the razor blades.

Goals

Personally, JPD, I will not be in that group. For me, I have had two goals: 1. For Tyler to set the ACC scoring record (done) and 2. For the Heels to not have a major melt down, like last year against Kansas, and to play their best in each game (remains to be seen). Sure a NC would be nice, but there will be another Champion next year. The ACC scoring record, set by Tyler, I expect will stand for a good number of years, (i.e. how many great four year starters will we see in the ACC?)

UNC has a team of team players.

As a team they will play, win, and advance.

Whatever!

The Heels prove they can win sometimes without the impact players because the team of full of recruits that are impacts as a team player.

as simple as

a coach trying to say the right things and a player talking like he should.  nothing to see.  move along.
