I'm not punishing Boise State (5) for a relatively close call (45-35) against Louisiana Tech, rather Texas Christian (4) jumped a spot because of Oregon's loss and Clemson's climb in the ACC standings.
In the voting world of comparing apples to armchairs, Oregon's 51-42 loss hurts Boise State because the Ducks had won seven straight games since losing to Boise in the opener.
TCU won at Clemson 14-10 in September. The Tigers have won four straight in the ACC, including an overtime win at No. 13 Miami, and taken control of the Atlantic Division. The Horned Frogs also have a second win over a ranked team (BYU) while Boise does not.
Everything after unbeaten Cincinnati is a crap-shoot. I actually had to move LSU up, after a loss, because there are no other viable candidates and the Tigers, with losses to the No. 1 and No. 3 teams, qualify as the best two-loss team.

Rankings
Wed, 11/11/2009 - 23:09 — LetsGoPittYeah, there isn't much difference between some of these teams once you get past Cinci. But Houston? Eh, I think Pitt, Iowa, and Clemson could all beat them. This weekend should sort out some of the rankings, but with teams playing in conference beating each other, it might be hard to argue for some. I really think the PAC-10 may have the best six-pack of teams. No other conference can match their top six, except maybe the SEC.
