DURHAM --Louisiana State’s women’s basketball team summoned its usual prickly defense and bottled up Hartford for a 60-39 victory in the first round of the NCAA tournament on Saturday at Cameron Indoor Stadium.

With long arms and quick anticipation, the seventh-seeded Lady Tigers frustrated just about everyone on Hartford roster’s on its way to a second round game on Monday. They forced 17 turnovers, collected seven steals and blocked d shots, holding the Hawks to their season low points and 29 percent from the field

LSU's L Barrett led all scores with 20 points and 11 rebounds.

The seventh-seeded Lady Tigers used a 17-0 run in the first half to jump ahead of the Hawks. They also used their trademark defense to hold their opponents scoreless for nearly eight minutes during that run.

With six minutes remaining the Lady Tigers led 19-8 and were in full control of the contest, attacking inside and jumping in passing lanes for steals.

ACC?

Guys, can someone tell me why the LSU women's team gets on ACCNOW when:
- during the season, the Wake games would take hours to get posted?
- Clemson and Va-Tech stories rarely, if ever, get one here? I mean, Clemson is in the ACC, but I am not sure I recall posts about them here on the ACCNOW blog.

Or is this a ploy to woo LSU to the ACC in case BC leaves?

I think . . .

I think the ACC is after Hartford, not LSU. Wink

Hartford

Good point, mel!   After all, that's the Hartford Whalers playing at the RBC!!!

Why?

Surely this is some kind of mistake.

Ummm

So now all it takes is to have an event in your building for there to be a thread in ACCNow??? C'mon, this is a waste of the internet and the energy it takes me to scroll down that extra space on the web page? I guess now we should expect to see threads for the monster truck rallys that they have at the RBC Center?
