Hot weekend ahead at Duke

Bookmark and Share

DURHAM — It's homecoming weekend at Duke and the festivities culminate with several sporting events on Friday and Saturday.

The basketball team opens its season with a practice session that coach Mike Krzyzewski will open to the public on Friday. Cameron Indoor Stadium doors open at 4 p.m.; practice begins at 5 p.m.

On Saturday, the hoops squad will stage its annual Blue-White scrimmage at 1 p.m. The Duke football team then hosts Miami at Wallace Wade Stadium at 3:30 p.m.

But first, in the middle of that basketball intrasquad scrimmage, the football team will take its usual pre-game "Blue Devil Walk" starting from the Duke Chapel. On its way to Wallace Wade, the Blue-White game will stop to allow the football team to walk through Cameron and greet the basketball crowd.
