Holtz not looking for another job

ECU coach Skip Holtz is not going anywhere.

On ECU's web site, Holtz wrote: "I am not seeking another position and am not involved in any discussions that would promote or verify such conjecture."

Holtz has been connected to openings at Syracuse and Boston College since leading the Pirates to the Conference USA title.

Here's the full text from Holtz' statement:

Because of the sensitivity involved, I have asked Coach Holland if I could personally share my thoughts and commitment directly with the Pirate Nation regarding the speculation on my position at East Carolina. It is my hope and understanding that this will offer closure to this situation.

With that said, I would like to issue the following statement:

"The continuing speculation and various media reports regarding my candidacy for positions other than the one I currently have and enjoy at East Carolina, are inaccurate.

As I have previously stated, I am not seeking another position and am not involved in any discussions that would promote or verify such conjecture. On the other hand, I view this apparent
media-based interest as another positive reflection on what our players, coaches, administration and the Pirate Nation have been able to accomplish over the last few seasons. I couldn't be more proud of how hard they played and what they accomplished on the field.

While some aspects of this added visibility might be considered flattering, my primary focus remains solely on continuing to build our program. In the short term, that centers around recruiting."
