First, why are you State fans still bringing up something that happened 21 years ago?  Get over it!  Secondly, someone commented that ECU fans talk so much junk you'd think they were USC.  Are you kidding?  You are, right!  Read these blogs and see just how many derogatory comments have been made about ECU from smack talking Pack fans.  Thirdly, please stop saying it wasn't that big of a deal to beat ECU this year.  You had t-shirts printed with the final score and the "upset".  Let's just call it like it is.  State played a great game and upset the 15th ranked team in the nation.    

Playing against ECU is fun while you are doing it, but after you're done- you know you are in a relationship with someone like that crazy woman in the movie "Fatal Attraction".

We all like to have fun with this rivalry and I'm sure Lee is no different & was feeling a little froggy this week with the overtime win over the #15 team in the country (now the #23 team in the country. Sometimes when you are feeling full of yourself its easy to get lulled into some words you may regret. In this instance: I think Lee may have "mis-remembered."
Imagine what NCSU could do.... if it actually had a AD??? Somebody.... is about to get exposed, and he wears a red jacket. The obvious answer (contract) is sitting in a folder on someone's desk- and I'm sure Holland doesn't want to show-up his fellow AD in public.
That hits on something however: when Holland and Fowler are presented in the same setting it gets painfully obvious- somebody is playing a chess match and somebody is eating glue. Somebody is making More out of less vs. somebody creating less out of More.
Best thing Fowler can do is go back to 99.1, mumble he "mis-remembered" and shuffle back to his office.

Good God ECU fans talk so much junk you would think they are USC in football. NC State and ECU and UNC for that matter all are horrible football programs with that get no national respect. Stop trying to put each other down as if one prorgam is better than another. They ALL SUCK. In addition, yeah ECU started the year off well, but you LOST to STATE so shut the heck up. You are back to being irrelevant because you lost a crappy team missing half of their starters due to injuries. At least UNC is an elite university and NC State is a 1st Tier college. EZU is a bottom, 4th tier college. 4th ties means lower 25% - that is sad.

Can't ECU get it? We (State) don't want to play you. This is a much bigger game to you than it is to us. It is like you are this little brother with this huge inferiority complex. You're never going to be in the same league as State and UNC but you keep bugging us and bugging us to play you. If you can't get it one way, you go to the legislature whining and they threaten to pass a law making us play you. Just go away please.

there are enough lawyers on staff at both ncs and ecu to be able to execute a new contract or contract modification if both parties agreed. as a carolina alum and college football fan i would love to see in state games scheduled rather than the out of state barber college teams bought in to try and gain bowl elegibility.

State and ECU will get back to reality this weekend - and all of this will be a distant memory soon enough. Fowler is trying to bleed this victory for everything it is worth, b/c more than likely, it will be the only bright spot on NCSU's season. Pretty pathetic.

needs to be fired ASAP. As a student I am fed up with going to games only to have these idiots ruin it. The top 3 guys that need to be gone from NCSU go something like this:

1.) Lee Fowler - He is just a complete moron and anytime he opens his mouth or talks to the media he makes everyone involved with NCSU look bad.

2.) Jon Stafford - This man prides himself on taking away student traditions and replacing them with no tailgating, pat downs at the gate, and a ticketing system so poor that you miss the 1st quarter of the game.

3.) James oBLINGer - A proud leader who has made great strides for the university like...... raising fees (BLING BLING) and..... well that's about it!

is the topic and since some of you Staint fans are bringing up "recent" history....since 1983 13 games have been played with ECU winning 7...and if you want to brag that you have a 15-10 overall record against...consider this...Staint is an ACC school with recruiting power...ECU gets the leftovers and we are still able to whip your tails on any given year.

With the way the Wolfpack has laid the smack down on that Pirate rear end---I can't blame Holland, Holtz, the mayor of Greenville, County Commisioners, and any other EZU fan--I would not want to play the Wolfpack either. I am so glad the Pack could end a Pirate's Pipe dream.

Hahaha, Fowler thinks a letter takes precedence over a signed contract? This guy is even dumber than everyone initially suspected.

You really have to feel bad for NCSU, and this is coming from someone who doesn't have a dog in this fight.

All ACC (and ECU football), all the time — from breaking news to game coverage, post-game analysis, audio and video from the N&O sports staff...nuff said :)

NC State is 10-18 over the past 2 or so years. Of those 10 wins, 4 of them were against top 25 competition. NC State is not consistently good, but they do show up for games they consider to be bigtime opponents.

Surely you don't put the Wolfpack on the same level as USC, WVU, or Virginia Tech year in and year out? If so, the delusions in Raleighwood are much worse than originally estimated.

I would've thought by now that those unrealistic expectations and perceived importance that Amato helped to set would've worn off by now. I guess not for some people.

Let me help you. You're NC State. You're no one. You are the butt of jokes all across the media outlets. Phillip Rivers is not coming back.

What do you mean you're surprised with the way it came out of ECU, Fowler? You basically made it sound like Holland and Holtz were scared to line up with NC State. Probably news to you, but NC State is the easiest game ECU has lined up out of conference for many, many years.

Here is your quote, Fowler:
"We had more games over those six years, and I think Skip (Holtz) and Terry (Holland) got together and said, 'We've got to make sure we can win and do some things properly,' so I think they wanted to back off every other year or every year, home and away."

If anything, I'm sure Holland was pretty surprised with the way you let your gums flap like you're Southern Cal. News, pal, no one is scared to play NC State. NO ONE.
