UNC finalized its deal with LSU to open the 2010 football season in Atlanta in the Chik-fil-A Kickoff.

The Tar Heels had to move their previously scheduled game with South Carolina to accommodate the national showcase game. They will open the 2013 season against the Gamecocks in Columbia, S.C.

Clemson and Virginia Tech have played in the first two Chik-fil-A openers. N.C. State is scheduled to open the 2012 season in Atlanta against Tennessee.

LSU represents a jump in competition for the Heels, who have opened with Division I-AA opponents in each of coach Butch Davis' first three seasons. LSU, a two-time BCS champion, is ranked No. 9 in this week's top 25.

Carolina's not going to play two FCS schools from next year on..

as evidenced by them joining the SEC :). Just kidding, but all of these games should be good to watch. Maybe a couple of them in person.

Atlanta

is a serious option next season.

Whatever happened to our series with TN?

I believe we were supposed to start it this year. I bet they backed out just like ECU so now we are stuck with these two garbage games. Cant wait to see how terrible Gardner Webb is.

Aren't the Heels scheduled

Aren't the Heels scheduled to play Tennessee one year? When does that happen?

Tennessee at UNC Sept 24,

Tennessee at UNC Sept 24, 2011

UNC at Tenneseee Sept  8, 2012

all haters

please take note of who comes where first ... just like in the case of USC.

sorry.  just had to throw that out there! :)

What? I just said I would

What? I just said I would enjoy the game! =P  LSU should be pretty tough though.  Good luck when the time comes.

LOL

I'll really enjoy watching that one next year.
