North Carolina has sold out of its 22,000 allotment of bowl tickets to the Dec. 27 Meineke Bowl against West Virginia, the school announced. Five thousand tickets remain, according to a bowl spokesman, and can be purchased at

UNC's original allotment was 12,500, but it asked for additional tickets to bring it to the 22,000 total.

"In addition to the 22,000 tickets we sold in Chapel Hill, we have been told that many of our fans purchased tickets directly from the Meineke Car Care Bowl and Ticketmaster,'' Clint Gwaltney, UNC's associate athletics director for ticket operations, said in a prepared statement. "We expect more than 40,000 Tar Heel fans to be at the game."

Heels sell out of bowl tickets....

My advice is not to be on I-85 that day......more than likely there will be a ton of traffic heading back to Tar Hole land in the third least it's a short drive!

Great advice

You must give great advice, as it appears that many NCSU fans, will not be using I-85 that day. Oh that's right, I guess they will go down on Sunday for the Monday game, if tickets are still available. Sure, I know if State was in Charlotte, they would sell out as well.

Good one.....

Who do you root for? Let me guess......

While WVU should bring a crowd, I'm confident...

Will be turned Blue. Go Heels!!

good job heels fans! Let's turn Charlotte blue!
