Heels already a winner

Tags: ACC Now | UNC

Scheduling matters and one reason UNC, despite winning four games in 2007, got four first-place votes in the Coastal Division and was picked to finish second in the division is because of who the Tar Heels don't play.

UNC avoids Clemson, Florida State and Wake Forest — likely the three best teams — from the Atlantic Division. Even a sportswriter can figure out that's an advantage for the Heels in Butch Davis' second season.

Patrick Stevens of the Washington Times breaks down all of the ACC teams conference schedules on D1scourse, his fine blog about everything Maryland and greater DC area.
