Former All America Tyler Hansbrough made a few records fall at North Carolina during his four-year career. Now, the Indiana Pacers' forward is making the sky fall — at least in the imaginations of people who want to listen to him read "Chicken Little."
As part of the NBA franchise's Call-A-Pacer program, folks can dial the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library to hear Hansbrough read the children's story. (Dial 317-275-4444 to listen to Hansbrough's recorded story.)
Former Tar Heels teammate Bobby Frasor couldn’t help but poke fun at his pal about reciting lines including, “The sky is falling” on Twitter this morning, writing “This could be the greatest thing ever,” and listing the number. Frasor also tweeted to author Nicholas Sparks: “if you need to sell some more audio books, then I suggest hiring @THANS50 and his angelic voice to narrate.”
Former Duke players Josh McRoberts and Dahntay Jones – who now team with Hansbrough in Indianapolis – already had their turns, by the way. McRoberts read Dr. Seuss’ “I’m Not Going to Get Up Today” the week of April 18; Jones read “Giraffes Can’t Dance” by Giles Andreae the week of April 4. Former Blue Devil Mike Dunleavy will read “T is for Terrible” by Peter McCarty, beginning June 20.

Wed, 05/04/2011 - 18:56 — BigSharkPresident Barack Obama reads the children's book 'Chicka Chicka Boom Boom' to youngsters at the Easter Egg Roll festivities at the White House in Washington...
where to start?
Wed, 05/04/2011 - 16:49 — JPDOhioThey missed an opportunity by not having Tyler read "T is for Terrible". Besides, I thought T was for Psycho T.
McRoberts is perfect for "I'm Not Going to Get Up Today". I had no idea there already was a book out covering his career at Duke.
Seems to me they should recruit Ryan Harrow to read some of these books. He would sound like one of the kids and he'll have some time on his hands for a year. (Before anyone gets all up in arms, like Jay Leno says, "Just joking. We love Ryan Harrow")
Actually...
Thu, 05/05/2011 - 01:22 — chrismg1McRoberts should have read "T is for Terrible" and if the Pacers had traded for Hickson he could have read "I'm Not Going to Get Up Today
i like it
Thu, 05/05/2011 - 13:54 — JPDOhioAlthough JJ finally has found a coach who was able to wake him up. After he and Byron Scott had a "come to Jesus" moment early in the season, JJ got religion.
