Hansbrough banged up against Miami

After UNC's 69-65 victory over Miami, the Miami team doctors thought Tyler Hansbrough might have suffered a low-grade concussion, but UNC's doctors have not confirmed it yet, spokesman Steve Kirschner said.
Coach Roy Williams was talking about guard Wayne Ellington's arm injury and point guard Ty Lawson's illness during his Monday night radio show when he added: "Tyler Hansbrough [was] getting banged around a little bit, and I don't know if we've announced it or not so I guess it's all right, but Tyler Hansbrough got a slight concussion early in the second half."
Hansbrough's eight-point performance was "one of the worst games he's played all year," Williams said, until he took a charge in the final minutes to help secure the 69-65 victory.
UNC plays N.C. State on Wednesday night.

I've seen the network show several replays over the course of several games where Hansbrough was clearly hammered and only Stevie Wonder should've missed it - yet the whistles never blew. Drawing contact and going to the foul line is not a crime -it's an art, and I love to watch an artist at work. Go Heels!

It doesn't matter who the athlete is or what team he plays for, I hate to see this type of injury (or any other for that matter) happen. And this is coming from a State fan on the day before UNC (perhaps Tyler-less) hosts the Pack.
I do agree that the refs are allowing way too much mugging, to the extent that it has become an accepted tactic for less talented players to deal with superior opponents. It not only is ruining the game, but, more importantly, it is putting players' health at risk. The way things are going, I am not sure why they bother to cover the ice with floorboards any more.

Hansbrough has been so good for so long and is now getting the Shaq treatment. if hes not bleeding, we're not calling it anymore. you also saw this out of Thabeet last night even though his status is no where close to Hansbroughs. imagine, it took just ONE GAME for UCant's coach to go into a frenzy about the treatment Thabeet got. imagine what Coach Williams has to go through EVERY GAME and keeps his mouth shut, for the most part. albeit, he did have a sentence or two last night on his radio show concerning Tyler. but not an entire press conference!! ^did you see the paper the day after unc's three point win over florida state? there was an ENTIRE article featuring roy williams complaining about the refs relating to tyler hansbrough. get your head out of your rear and maybe you can drop your hypocritical comments

my point was, UConns coach, Jim Calhoun, goes ape sh*t over one game where Thabeet doesnt get a fair shake whereas Coach Williams has been putting up with this all season. ooohhhh. I missed one article about one game. Big deal. It happens every game.
I'm not looking for sympathy by no stretch of the imagination. UNC is the best team in the Triangle, the best team in the state, best team in the nation. Tyler's the best player in the nation. But, it doesn't change the fact Tyler gets sucker punched in every game he plays in b/c he breaks the will of every single defender that plays against him.

^pretty bold statements there. when unc loses in the tournament, and hansbrough is exposed, are you gonna eat those words? most certainly not. hell, people still talk about how "delusional" state fans were during the chuck amato era. but you'll never hear about unc being over-hyped or underacheiving. so, continue to make your statements. none of us care, because we know when it's all said and done, you won't own up to them.

The ACC and National refs are on to his head down dive into guys routine. The gigs up he'll still get calls in conf. but the NCAA Championship is for men not pansies and UNX will not win it because TH won't square up and shoot a jumper.
OH and a real news flash that there is a excuse for his performance.
