Good news for Herb?

Bookmark and Share

Lute Olson is retiring as Arizona's basketball coach, according to ESPN, specifically Dick Vitale. Arizona is denying the report.

Olson, 74, has a career record of 780-280 at Long Beach State, Iowa and Arizona with a 589-188 mark at Arizona since 1983. Olson did not coach the 2007-08 season for what the school called personal reasons, repeatedly denying it was for health reasons.

Assistant coach Mike Dunlap will take over the program on an interim basis, according to Vitale.

Update (x2): Arizona and Olson confirm the retirement.

"i am not sure how all of this is good news for Herb because I am sure Arizona will hire a top-notch coach."

Izzy, UA signed first year assistant to the head coaching job. his last stint was 8 years as AAU coach! so, no they did not sign a top-notch coach. that program is going to Hadeas!

Herb?

Is someone growing sassafrass or something, what's spaghetti sauce ingredients gotta do with Arizona.

Ohhhhhh...Herb Sendek

How's that good news for Herb? Is he gonna retire the "Weave and Heave" since Lute is retiring? When Lute retires does that somehow magically transfer personality and charisma over to Arizone State? Yeah, i don't think so either, so i am not sure how all of this is good news for Herb because I am sure Arizona will hire a top-notch coach.

Also...what ginobli said

Still trolling....

JP, I see you are still trolling for NC State fan reaction so let me oblige.  Herb's gone and we are over it.  Seems the media is not.
