The ACC will only have two new football coaches next season. Ralph Friedgen will return to Maryland for his 10th season, the school announced Tuesday.
The Terrapins went 2-10 in 2009, the worst mark of Friedgen's nine seasons at his alma mater. The Fridge began his career with three straight 10-win seasons, including 10-2 debut in 2001 when the Terps won the ACC title.
Friedgen's just 16-22 after a 31-8 start and four of the last six seasons have ended with a losing record.
Offensive coordinator James Franklin is the coach-in-waiting but his buyout is not as punitive as the one Jimbo Fisher had at Florida State.
As it is, Fisher and Al Groh's replacement at Virginia will be the only two new coaches in the ACC in 2010.

Wed, 12/02/2009 - 01:41 — Heels20I was hoping Friedgen would team up somewhere with Mangino and Weis, creating the fattest coaching staff of all-time.
