Listen to J.P. Giglio on WPTF-680 every Saturday at 1 p.m. on "The Big Tailgate Show" with Taylor Zarzour.
Clemson: After a 24-point loss at UNC, Clemson big man Trevor Booker, who was held to nine points, queried: "I don't know why I didn't get the ball more."
The Tigers' No. 35, and that's Mr. No. 35 to Duke's Kyle Singler and Brian Zoubek, responded with 21 points, eight boards, three blocks and a YouTube-ready dunk in a 27-point win over Duke.
Getting the ball to your best player? Hmm, what a concept. Who would have thunk it? Well, maybe not 75 percent of the ACC's coaches.
Davidson and Memphis: A pair of Cats have turned their respective conferences into kittens.
The Wildcats own a 43-game winning streak against Southern Conference opponents, only to be one-upped by the Tigers' 50-game streak against Conference USA.
There's no "I" in dynasty but there is a "nasty."
Duke: At 6-2, the Blue Devils are far from finished, but for the second half to match the first, Duke needs more Daryl Hall out of Kyle Singler, and less John Oates. (Although an Oatesian mustache on Singler would be classic.)
Singler, who was Duke's best player in November, December and January, has 11 points and six turnovers in two February games.
When just Gerald Henderson is running hot, the Devils are too cold to keep up with You Know Who, or even Clemson.
C-USA and Southern Conference: There are 11 other teams in C-USA, ditto the SoCon. Could one of you beat Memphis or Davidson?
Seriously, we're not talking a Kanye West miracle here. (What else do you call making pink Polos and synthesizers hip again?) Just get hot from 3-range and win a conference basketball game.
Call Trevor Booker if you need coaching tips.

Wrong side of history
UNC, the preseason favorite to run the table, missed its shot at ACC history, but Virginia (1-6) and Georgia Tech (1-7) are on track to become the first one-win ACC team in 20 years.
That trick hasn't been pulled since Bob Wade's forgettable Maryland bunch (Greg Nared, anyone?) went 1-13 in 1988-89.
While 19-0 has been done (Duke in 1999), there has never been a 15-loss team, in the regular season, in conference history.
Georgia Tech, which beat Wake Forest, has home dates with Maryland (Sunday) and N.C. State (Feb. 14). They should find at least one more win.
Virginia, which won at Georgia Tech, goes to UNC and Florida State before heading home to face Clemson and Virginia Tech. Realistically, the Hoos' best shot at another 'W' is at N.C. State (Feb. 21) or the season-finale against Maryland (March 7).
Either way, Wade, Nared and the immortal Tony Massenburg are surely rooting for company.

Coachspeak-to-English translation
"As somebody put it to me the other day, it's a three-headed monster."
N.C. State coach Sidney Lowe on his point-guard rotation of Farnold Degand, Julius Mays and Javi Gonzalez
Translation: As somebody put it to me the other day, it's a three-headed monster ... headache.
