Roy Williams: While not appropriate, Ol' Roy's post-game profanity was a genuine moment of honesty and the media highlight of the season.

If UNC, the ACC and the FCC — and Roy sure put the "F" in FCC? — doesn't have a problem with it, neither does Foul Shots.

The only person who objected was Butch Davis, who was so embarrassed for the university, he kicked three more players off the football team.

Georgia Tech: Virginia did what was previously believed to be impossible and beat an ACC team (other than Georgia Tech). Foul Shots' dream of a 15-loss ACC season now rides on the Yellow Jackets (1-11).

Chin up, Paul Hewitt. When they eventually fire you, they'll honor the mediocrity of your service by renaming the court after you.

Maryland:If you're going to lose, lose big. The Terps have done that in spades this season, falling to Duke (by 41 points), Clemson (29) and Georgetown (27).

The Terps only seem to win after long stories chronicling their recruiting woes run The Washington Post. Maybe Gary Williams can call in favor at the Post before today's game with UNC.

Virginia Tech: So impressed by Dave Leitao's genius-to-janitor routine, Seth Greenberg has decided that imitation is indeed the sincerest form of flattery.

Greenberg said the NCAA Tournament selection committee was "certifiably insane" to leave his Hokies out in 2008. Tech's loss to Virginia removes psychological analysis out from this year's equation.

Miami: The Hurricanes (4-8) still have a good chance at finishing .500 in the ACC but will that be enough to get back to the NCAA Tournament? The Canes are 2-5 against the ACC's five best teams and lack a strong nonconference win (Kentucky?).

Jack McClinton deserves a better ending than the NIT.

Let this be the first of a thousand apologies (or more) owed to N.C. State sophomore Javier Gonzalez.

The young point guard can play in the ACC. He has quieted any doubts about his previously suspect ability in the Wolfpack's past four conference games.

Nevermind the shooting against UNC (7 of 8, all four of his 3-pointers), Gonzo stood toe-to-toe with the Heels' Ty Lawson.

Of all the developments in Sidney Lowe's third season, that's the most important for his future.
