Bookmark and Share

South Atlanta High power forward Derrick Favors, the nation’s No. 1 senior prospect according to scout.com, committed to Georgia Tech over N.C. State and Georgia on Wednesday night.

Favors, who’s 6-foot-9, made the announcement live on ESPN-U.

“I like the style of play they play,” he said. “It’s close to home so friends and family can come see me play.”

Favors joins forward Kammeon Holsey and guard Mfon Udofia as GT commitments from the class of 2009.

NCCU in Atlanta

Doesn't NCCU have an Atlanta campus? Could he like enroll there and his folks go watch him? Oops, I forgot. That was all illegal. Nevermind.

poor Wolfpack... They

poor Wolfpack... They thought they had them a good player..

While landing Favors

While landing Favors would've been nice -- and transformed an already good class into a great one -- it's not the end of the world.

And those who know what they're talking about w/respect to State athletics-- which you clearly don't -- knew landing Favors was a longshot to begin with.

The bigger question is: Will Derrick Favors be enough to save Paul Hewitt's job for one more year? If so, then what in 2011?

respect

i respect the programs of NC State.. but just not the fan's who dont give respect. To get respect you have to give respect.

nd in no way am i saying that *you* personally don't respect other programs. I'm guessing that you do respect other programs and i respect you for that.

But there are a select few on here however that i would have
to say is the complete opposite.
