Former North Carolina guard Wayne Ellington has signed with agent Arn Tellem in preparation for the NBA draft, Ellington’s father confirmed Tuesday.
The player's father, Wayne Sr., said Ellington was on his way to Los Angeles – where Tellem's agency is located – on Tuesday.
Ellington was named the most outstanding player as a junior at the Final Four last month after North Carolina defeated Michigan State to win the NCAA title.
Tellem's extensive NBA client list includes former North Carolina players Antawn Jamison and Sean May.

Still Stings
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 20:25 — TheBigGuyThat Final 4 beatdown that Ellinton put on you still stings eh Nova? Wayne has 6 times the athletic ability of JJ Redick which he so beautifully demonstrated against your boyz. It took 2 mins for Wayne to punch y'alls lights out in Detroit.
No way
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 20:00 — novalaw24First, like him or not J.J. Reddick is/was one of the best pure jump shooters. And he has continually struggled in the NBA. He is only getting extended minutes now because Courtney Lee is injured. Ellington is not Reddick. Ellington's shooting can be classified as streaky at best.
Second, comparing Ellington to Davis is also a bit lofty. If for no other reason than a guy like Davis is rare. Most undersized NBA 2-guards, with a relatively poor jump shot, who cannot player defense, and who are not super-athletic are just not able to sustain NBA careers.
But on the bright side is that you can now make some serious, serious money in Europe (Trajan Langdon is well into the millions/year). And there are worse places to play professional basketball (ie- Milwaukee or Toronto)
i dunno
Wed, 05/06/2009 - 15:07 — AlleyOopshe's had his good games. think he scored 20+ a few times late last year and the middle of the year this year. He's not in their typical 8-man playoff rotation but he was getting big minutes until the last month of the season.
Ellington will be nothing more than a role player for sure. I thought he was less athletic than Psycho T and athleticism goes a long way in the NBA
Ellington and Forte are two different people...
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 18:54 — UNC1998Ellington has something Forte did not, work ethic. He will make his way onto an NBA roster. He will find his niche, as said before. I'm not expecting him to make the 50 best players team, but he'll have a career there.
I wish him well
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 18:53 — mayberry_lady1Enjoyed watching him play. I hope he enjoys the payback for his years of work to get to this point in his basketball career. He'll always be a Tarheel no matter where he goes.
I hope he has strong
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 16:05 — novalaw24I hope he has strong connections to Europe because after a year, year and a half max, he is going to need them. Or what league is Joe Forte playing in now?
you're incorrect
Tue, 05/05/2009 - 16:13 — AlleyOopsSee the other blog about how J.J. Redick has found his niche in the NBA. If JJ can, Wayne will have no problem making himself a long, Hubert Davis-like, career. I have no idea why Forte didn't succeed. That's always mystified me.
