DURHAM — Reporters aren't allowed at Duke football practice past the warmup period but even 200 yards away, behind a fence and sitting amidst the trees that surround the practice fields, you could hear Duke coach David Cutcliffe yelling: "I don't like the way we're finishing!"
The Blue Devils (2-1) were doing their last rounds of sprints before the end of the practice, their second during their bye week. For the remaining sprints, coaches yelled: "Finish! Finish! Finish!" for each group.
Duke defensive coordinator Marion Hobby talks about how important that simple idea is in this audio clip. Duke next hosts Virginia (1-2), in its ACC opener, on Sept. 27.
