Bookmark and Share

Duke basketball got a head start on the recruiting class of 2013 with the commitment of guard Matt Jones.

Jones, ranked as the 21st-best player in the high school junior class by ESPN, chose Mike Krzyzewski's program on Monday, according to ESPN recruiting analyst Dave Telep.

Jones is 6-4, 180 pound shooting guard from DeSoto, Texas. He chose the Blue Devils over Texas, Florida, Kansas and North Carolina, according to Telep. Telep describes Jones as the "perfect shooting guard."

Duke is also pursuing Jones' AAU teammate, Julius Randle. Randle, a 6-9 forward from Dallas, is the No. 3 prospect in the class, according to ESPN.
