Duke jumps UNC in Top 25

Bookmark and Share

As expected, North Carolina's 85-78 loss to Boston College Sunday cost the Tar Heels the top spot in this week's college basketball poll.

Undefeated Pittsburgh (14-0) is the new No. 1 in The AP Top 25 released this afternoon, one of a record nine Big East teams in the Top 25.

Duke (12-1) jumped three spots to claim the No. 2 ranking, while the Tar Heels (13-1) slid to No. 3. Undefeated Wake Forest (13-0) climbed two spots but still finds itself behind the Blue Devils and UNC at No. 4.

Clemson (14-0) jumped eight spots to No. 12, and Boston College, riding a 10-game win streak, marked its first appearance in the AP poll since December 2007, at No. 17.

UNC vs. WF is shaping up...

to the be battle of the century. What an excellent early season contest. I'm looking for UNC to bounce back in a big way. I truly pity CoC and Bobby Cremins.

I disagree somewhat.

the perception of the Big Least is out of this world. not to mention thats where the tv execs are too. and most pollsters as well. they'll have 7-9 teams in the top 25 all year long.

Although UNC isnt #1 any

Although UNC isnt #1 any more, I am very impressed with the ACC having 3 teams in the top 4 (Duke,UNC,Wake) and 4 in the top 12 (+Clemson)

says alot about that upper part of the conference.

9 Big East teams in the Top 25? you can still tell its early. After those teams beat up on each other during conference play that number will decline.  But none the less still impressive.
