Duke joins Noles in title game

ATLANTA — Duke did what UNC couldn't on Saturday — get to the ACC title game.

The third-seeded Blue Devils beat seventh-seeded Maryland 67-61 to advance to a championship matchup with Florida State on Sunday.

Jon Scheyer's 22 points put Duke back in the championship game for the first time since 2006.

Eric Hayes led Maryland with 20 points.

The Terps did an admirable job defending Duke's Gerald Henderson, who was held to eight points, but they weren't been able to generate enough offense against Duke's tough defense.

The Terps hit only four 3-pointers (out of 14 attempts). When the undersized team doesn't get hot from three, they have no inside scoring options to balance it out.

can;t wait

to read all the excuses from arrogant tar holes.....i;m sure they ill start with Lawson, and the referees!!!

Go Noles!!!

Being an NCSU alumnus and former UNC fan, I hope the Noles beat the fire out of Duke. My daughter was an honors grad of Florida State since we lived in Florida for 14 years when she was young. I'm just sorry I couldn't find a NOLES cap or shirt at Walmart.

HA!!

growing up in the Piedmont, every person that went to ncsu grew up a Tar Heel fan.

my point, no one in this state grows up a State fan.
