Davis: 'No interest whatsoever' in Vols

Bookmark and Share

CHAPEL HILL — Asked again Wednesday about the job opening at Tennessee, North Carolina coach Butch Davis gave his most definitive answer yet:

"I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the University of Tennessee job," Davis said during the ACC teleconference.

"It's a great job, but I have no interest in it. As I've said for the last couple of weeks,I love being here, my family loves being at Carolina. We’re building with the administration everything we can every single day to build a championship football program here."

Davis also said Tennessee had not contacted his agent.

Tennessee athletics director Mike Hamilton said Tuesday night that "we haven't had any converstaions with any candidtates at this point."

Are we to think him a liar?

I know in sports nothing is barred, but if he says he loves it in Chapel Hill, and he's staying...I'm believing him. As for the Kenan upgrades..I think it's time for UNC to allow sponsors ads at the stadium. They flash that out of business bank up all the time. Why not flash a few more up there? Also, luxury suites will bring in some income. I'm in the Rams Club, and when they ask I will send them some money. I think Kenan ACTUALLY needs some attention. The concrete fell, the lights went out, etc.... That was this season.

Vols

And Nick Saben isn't going to Alabama either. What is Davis supposed to say at this point in the season? It's like asking your spouse if they are cheating. The answer will always be NO.

How much ???

To all my fellow UNCers who cry "Pay Butch whatever it takes .... start the $150,000,000 Kenan upgrade NOW ..... yadda yadda yadda."
How much are YOU willing to ante up for all that? The "usual fat cats" are tapped out right now.
Let every screaming Internet nutjob send in $500 and specify its for "keeping Butch". Don't hold your breath waiting for the first check from that bunch.

Great news!

How does UNC restructure BD and staff's additional 3 million per year to stay without causing an uproar? Also, Kenan's 100 million upgrade must begin NOW!!! And Roy should also get a raise.
