DURHAM — Duke coach David Cutcliffe announced Tuesday that sophomore defensive back Eddie Morgan has been dismissed from the team for "violation of team standards."
Duke can't afford to lose another body in the defensive secondary. Junior starter Leon Wright was lost for the season due to injury several weeks ago and Morgan had been a serviceable backup as well as a special teams performer before getting kicked off the team.
Morgan started one game and, over his two years with the program, made 23 tackles, one tackle for loss and one pass breakup.
