GREENSBORO -- The Clemson Tigers cruised into the ACC tournament semifinals Friday by manhandling Boston College 70-47 at the Greensboro Coliseum.
The Tigers scored the game’s first 11 points and never looked back, leading throughout.
In addition to sending Clemson (21-11) into a 1 p.m. semifinal against North Carolina Saturday, the victory should further secure the Tigers’ NCAA tournament prospects.
Boston College, meanwhile, is left to wonder if its 19-12 record is enough to get the Eagles in the tournament.
The Tigers got a strong 20-point, eight-rebound, four-assist performance from senior guard Demontez Stitt while Jerai Grant scored 12 and Milton Jennings added 10 points.
Joe Trapani led Boston College with 20 points but the Eagles shot just 35 percent against the Tigers.
