Cary High suspends N.C. State football recruit

Bookmark and Share

Highly touted N.C. State football recruit Fre'Shad Hunter has been suspended for the remainder of the high school season.

Cary High School has suspended the 6-foot-5, 245-pound lineman, who is projected to play defensive end in college, for undisclosed reasons. He was among a number of starters suspended last week. Before verbally committing to State last month, Hunter was also considering Florida State, LSU and Tennessee, among other schools.

He did it himself

"What happened is there were some team rules broken, and it kind of became a mutual decision between me and his mom that he was going to focus on academics and nothing else," Kolstad said.

c'mon

the mother is in this as a smoke screen. this was no mutual decision. if it is, there is no precedent.

Hm

The original article made it sound like it was academic in nature. But it is what it is.

academic?

if it was academic, he was obviously failing his classes in HS.  So, how is he going to get into state?  you just don't  start making passing grades and graduate in your senior year.  unless the pressure of his individual teachers get to be too much and they ... gosh, i can't seem to write the rest of that sentence.  i lost my train of thought.

His mother decided...

As much as I want to reply to your first question, I won't. I will just leave it as is.

The article I was referring to was embedded in the Wall article, http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/college/story/153964.html

hit a nerve

I didn't say anything you wouldn't have said had it been a UNC recruit. I've seen your posts enough, too! ...

typically ...

(whatever he did) tends to follow you to the next place you go.

will the pack rethink his scholarship??

 HELL NO.

STFU

You can't be asinine enough to think this doesn't happen at every major football program. Wait a minute. I've seen your posts enough to know that your ARE that asinine.

no longer listed

He is no longer listed as a commit for ncsu on scout.com which is usually pretty accurate.
