At 2-7, Maryland is still eligible for one bowl ... the Orange Bowl.
Almost impossibly, the terrible Terrapins still have a chance to win the Atlantic Division. They can still finish 4-4 in the division, and if they are tied with Clemson and Boston College — and *only* those two teams — they will win the tiebreaker based on what would be a 2-0 record against the group.
Of course, the instant Clemson (4-2) wins one game — and the Tigers finish with two awful teams, N.C. State and Virginia — the Terps are back to the scrap heap.
But still, as of this moment, it's a mathematical possibility that a Maryland team with a losing record (6-7 even with the title game win) could go to a bowl game. It just makes it even more preposterous that that one bowl (and only bowl they could possibly play in) happens to be a BCS bowl.
