ACC Now

At least they have good kickers

Bookmark and Share

Who needs national titles, top-5 rankings or second BCS bids when you have a great kicking game?

In the continuing series of "What's wrong with Florida State and Miami," the Canes named Matt Bosher the team MVP. Bosher's the kicker (and punter).

Clinton Portis, Reggie Wayne, Andre Johnson, Jeremy Shockey and Willis McGahee must be so proud of what has become of The U.

Meanwhile, in an upset, Florida State named Christian Ponder its offensive MVP. If a kicker was a team MVP, it was Graham Gano, who if FSU had won the ACC, I would have named the conference's MVP.

If you're keeping track of the demise of The U and FSU, we had: bad coaching, bad quarterbacks, over-inflated sense of self-worth and Urban Meyer. Now, add the kicker's the best player on the team.
