ACC highlights

Home: Delaware, Georgia Southern or Presbyterian, Rhode Island, Montana, Duquesne, UNC-Asheville, Loyola (Md.), Davidson, Georgetown

Road: Purdue, Michigan, St. John's

Neutral site: Xavier, two Coaches vs. Cancer Classic games at Madison Square Garden

Analysis: You can't hear me, but I'm applauding Duke. The Blue Devils will actually play two true road games before their first ACC road trip.

That's roughly two more than they've played in recent years. Purdue, a preseason top-10 team, is going to give Duke everything it wants while Michigan will not.

Xavier, in New Jersey, and a potential date with UCLA, in New York, fill Duke's annual quota of Tri-State Area dates.

The Davidson game should be fun at Cameron as should Georgetown's trip to Durham.

There's no reason to think Duke will finish any worse than 13-2 outside the ACC. The Devils went 13-3 inside the league last year which adds up to 26 wins before the ACC Tournament.

In other words, the beat goes on in Durham (just not as strongly as it does in Chapel Hill).

True road games. Purdue is

True road games. Purdue is mandated by the ACC-Big Ten leaders (how many times has Duke played in an opposing arena in that series?). Michigan, a Duke scheduling favorite, is one of the most underachieving programs in any major conference: A great university with a large athletics budget and nothing to show since the ill-fated timeout in 1993. Kudos to the Georgetown matchup, regardless of site. But if there's applause, it should be a golf clap at best.

Time Warner Cable continues

Time Warner Cable continues its' abuse as a monopoly. Why show any games on ESPNU when the general popoulation doesn't have it? Gee........thanks Warner, for nothing.

Time Warner does carry ESPNU

Time Warner does carry ESPNU - you just have to splurge for digital cable rather than basic.
