2008 list

The ACC can claim 258 spots on NFL rosters this season, led by 41 from Miami.

Miami's total actually shrunk by five but the Canes expanded their lead over Florida State to a net of 11.

The Seminoles, while still second in the conference, dropped from 39 to 30 players who are either on an active 53-man roster, injured reserve or under league suspension. The numbers, compiled from the individual NFL team web sites, do not include players on the practice squad.

Thirty-three, of the 258, played at Miami, Virginia Tech or Boston College before they joined the ACC.

NFL Draft

I really enjoyed looking at your site, I found it very helpful indeed, keep up the good job..
Besides.i'll give you some sites i think they're wonderful and interesting.I suggest you joyful.http://www.topnflnews.com

BC

Did NCSt hire Jags and Logan this week?   Maybe McGovern and Spaz left last night too, since they coached every defensive player on that list.

TOBY and Bible were the same numbskulls that didnt start Ryan over Porter, bright move.   Cant wait to see the new swing pass that Bible calls next week.

BC...

Almost all (if not all) of BC's players were coached of course by NCState coaches.

JPG, it would also have been interesting to see the position breakdown by school.

and of course

ncsu is down near the bottom which I would not have thought.

UNC is only going to sky rocket in the next few years.  i'd go as far to say they'll challlenge for the top spot in the next five.

down near the bottom?

there's only five players standing between UNCCH and State.  the scale is a bit logarithmic with the Miami outlier.

JPG, do a list of the current ACC coaches who have coached players in the NFL.  Cutcliffe would definitely get a bump from that kind of list AND its more relevant than just going by school.

izzy

5 more is 5 more no matter how you slice it!  and we all know the margain isn't getting any shorter anytime soon.

it might as well be 25 or 100.  I dont say that b/c I am trying to be an a$$hole.  I say that b/c looking at UNC and BC's past, TOB was out NFLed by our late coach Mr John Bunting.  we all know BD will expand on the 5 person lead.

but WFU has proven you don't need NFLers to be competitive!  there is hope for all (except DUIke).

Two more

UNC is also missing two, who still will likely land somewhere: Ronald Curry and Conner Barth.

interesting deductive reasoning there...

actually alot of those UNC players were from Mack Brown's time.  So TOB out NFL'd bunting.  Also look where TOB was, BC, not as sexy as even Chapel Hill or Raleigh for that matter.

You are right about Wake though.  And what that shows is that Grobe et. al. are obviously good teachers and talent scouts.

RE: Cutcliffe getting a bump

and so would Butch!  think of guys like Clinton Portis, Jeremy Shockey, KW2, Jonathan Vilma and a host of others.  all recruited and coached by the great BD!

just think if BD can get those guys to Carolina!?  maybe he already has ... all UNC is missing, really, is a Ken Dorsey and for the youngins to mature (play  more).

the future is so bright at Carolina where football is concerned!

oh no doubt

but the list will not nearly be as long as TOB's or Beamer's or Bowden's.  I was also trying to throw Dook fans a little bone as well.  Future is not that bad in Durham either if cutcliffe can recruit more talent.

actually, looking at that Miami list, BD would have quite a few, it'd be close though, the team he left (after promising only days before not to leave) was almost entirely drafted to the nfl.

Let's look at current teams

Future NFLers for the Heels: Marvin Austin, Bruce Carter, Quan Sturdivant, Duenta Williams guaranteed, but there are others who are on their way up.

Future NFLers for State: Willie Young, Nate Irving (wish him the best in a speedy recovery) are the only ones guaranteed.  Maybe Ted Larsen?
