North Carolina’s 45-24 victory over No. 23 Boston College on Saturday makes the Tar Heels bowl eligible for only the second time since 2001. The ACC has nine bowl tie-ins:

 1.  FedEx Orange Bowl*  Miami
 2.  Chick-fil-A Bowl  Atlanta
 3.  Gator Bowl  Jacksonsville, Fla.
 4.  Champs Sports Bowl  Orlando, Fla.
 5.**  Music City Bowl  Nashville
6.**  Meineke Car Care Bowl  Charlotte
 7.**  Emerald Bowl  San Francisco
 8.  Humanitarian Bowl  Boise, Idaho
 9.  EagleBank Bowl  Washington D.C.

*  winner of ACC Championship game gets the automatic bid, unless it is ranked first or second in the final BCS standings. In that case, the winner plays in the BCS Championship Game

** These three bowl partners submit their preferences. If the teams and partners can’t agree, preference goes in the order listed.

UNC goes where?

With the Duke game still to play, UNC is tied for fourth... in their division. If they lose to Duke, they have a 3-5 conference record and a three game losing streak to explain away to bowl reps.

Nothing is stopping Carolina fans from making a trip to Atlanta or Orlando during the bowl, but they won't be watching their team there.

george

IMO, the Chick-Fil-A Bowl has become a lot more prestigious. obviously, outside the Georgia Dome doesnt hold a candle to Jax.

But wouldnt you rather get a shot at a solid SEC school. it would be a GREAT measuring stick for the program.

all that being said, the Heels still need to go out and win a few more games to go to either bowl.

gator?

y'all think a win over georgia tech might clinch the gator? jax is a little warmer and a lot prettier than atlanta.

I prefer Atlanta or Orlando

Miami probably isn't going to happen, but I'd take it. As a fan who might make the trip Atlanta and Orlando appeal to me.

biased

I know I am biased but I cant imagine UNC playing in a bowl less than the Champs Bowl.
